One of the most impactful teachers I've had was Dr. Kanta Rao, who taught me the basics of microprocessors and got me interested in computer systems. He was an excellent teacher who always pushed us way beyond what the syllabus called for.
However, the best piece of advice he ever gave me was about academic work ethic. He spent countless hours in the lab himself and encouraged students to do the same. He was an excellent example of hands-on learning and taught us what academic work ethic should be like.
Although Dr. Kanta Rao is no longer with us, his contributions to BIT Mesra and the thousands of students he taught and nurtured have enabled a lasting legacy. His service to the institute and to the students he taught will be remembered in the web page.
